Congratulations to Dr. Keith Jacobson as the 2025 recipient of the Dr. Sam Mendicino Lifetime Achievement Award. He was presented the award by 2024 recipient Dr. Al Ng, at the Greater Texas Education Foundation Conference and Graduation for the HCA West & Kingwood Houston Residency programs.
Dr. Jacobson is an alumnus of the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program (currently HCA West Houston), as well as completing residency in Primary Podiatric Medicine with the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and a graduate of Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine with a degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.
As a national expert in foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, he specialized in trauma and complex reconstruction for both adult and pediatric patients. He remains active in the profession, serving as a consultant on emerging technologies, contributing to residency training committees, and holding leadership roles with the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery—where he served as President from 2019 to 2020 and currently chairs the Exam Committee.
He practiced for over 25 years and has made a lasting impact on his patients and colleagues. A patient testimonial sums up his dedication: “Thank you Dr. Jacobson for high quality care and not treating us like another number, but people in pain seeking out your expertise.”
Dr. Jacobson recently retired in May from practice with Orthopedic Centers of Colorado in Denver, CO. He will remain involved with consulting, mentoring and medical professional organizations and spending more time with his wife Tanya and his family.
